ENGINEER RELEASES E-EDITION OF BOOK

A retired telecoms engineer who wrote a book about his late wife's dementia has released an electronic edition of the popular paperback.

Fred Walker, 76, from Sale in Greater Manchester, published Alzheimer's: An Engineer's View in October last year.

The book describes how Fred used logic to cope when his wife Joan was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease at the age of 67.

It was co-authored with neurophysiologist Dr Chris Pomfrett, and also explains the possible reasons for the symptoms Joan experienced during her four-year journey with the disease.

Fred has donated all proceeds from the sale of the book to Alzheimer's Research UK and has raised almost £20,000 so far.

The grandfather-of-six said: "I wrote Alzheimer's: An Engineer's View for anyone who has anything to do with Alzheimer's disease or the many other forms of dementia.

"It's also a lasting tribute to my late wife who died in 2010. Millie (1931) movie dvd who buys a copy of the book, in digital or physical form, will help raise much-needed money for dementia research.

"The paperback edition of the book is selling really well, and has received a number of five-star reviews on Amazon. I'm hoping the digital version is equally well received and helps me pass my £20,000 fundraising milestone for Alzheimer's Research UK."
